She won a maiden race for 2-year-olds by 1 1/4 lengths on turf (6 furlongs) under Vendula Koreckova. Trained by Vaclav Chaloupka for owner Metrostav-Chaloupka Terasa was bred in Uhersky Ostroh by Josef Psurny and she is the second 2-year-old winner by Bully Pulpit this year.

Chiaraluna trained by Jaroslav Hanacek for owner MPL Racing won by 3 lengths a 6 furlong (1200m) race on turf for 3-year-olds and up under Tanja Knuchel second finished Father’s Dream, third was Bailey.

Other Bully Pulpit’s daughter in race Merbela finished fifth under M. Zatloukal. Agromerace owned by Provit a.s.-Vanova was bred by Josef Psurny and this was her thirt victory in career. She is a full sister to 5-year-old Arzek (4 wins) also bred in Uhersky Ostroh (Czech Republic).

For Apinoa trained by Hana Vanova was this her biggest victory in career, and fourth victory in career from 15 starts. She was bred by Josef Psurny in Uhersky Ostroh. Sunday this time in Bratislava (Slovakia) on racetrack Stary Haj “broke” her maiden 3-year-old chestnut filly Chiaraluna (Bully Pulpit-Chicadee, In A Tiff) in Maiden race on 6 furlongs (1200m) on turf. Fourth victory in career secured last Sunday in Prague on racetrack Velka Chuchle 5-year-old bay gelding owned by DS Chanci Valassko Arzek (Bully Pulpit-Apteka, Dara Monarch). Arzek trained by Radim Bodlak won by 1 1/2 lengths a Handicap for 3-year-olds and up on 7 furlongs (1400m) on turf under jockey Jiri Chaloupka. He was bred by Josef Psurny in Uhersky Ostroh (Czech Republic) and he is the third winner by Bully Pulpit this year.

Bully Pulpit’s half sister, the 4-year-old dark bay Ivory Empress (Seeking The Gold-Madame Pandit) secured her third victory in career Saturday in Keeneland. In Allowance race for 4-year-old and upward fillies and mares on 5,5 furlongs (1100m) on turf she beat by neck Qeyaada in final time 1:03.24 under Julien Leparoux. Ivory Empress trained by Ian Wilkes for owner/breeder Janis R. Whitham won 3 races from 11 starts and earned $ 128,042 in career.

First win in year 2010 secured, the 4-year-old bay filly Apinoa in opening day in Bratislava (racetrack Stary Haj). Apinoa (Bully Pulpit-Amantka) won by neck under Zuzana Vokalkova a Handicap race for 3-year-old, and up on 1 1/16 miles (1700m) on turf. She is trained by Hana Vanova for owner Euroframe – Vanova. Apinoa was bred by Josef Psurny, and this was her third victory from 13 starts in career.

Overlooked Ice Box (Pulpit), the less fancied of two runners trained by Nick Zito for owner Robert LaPenta, ground out a nose victory at odds 20-1 over another outsider, 29-1 Pleasant Prince, in the $ 750,000 Florida Derby (Gr.1) at Gulfstream Park. The favorite Rule finished third. Ridden by Jose Lezcano, Ice Box rallied from last to win the Florida Derby. He rebounded from fifth place finish in Fountain of Youth (Gr.2) when he was 12 lengths behind Eskendereya. With the victory, Ice Box, a Kentucky-bred son of Pulpit out of Spice Island, a Grade 2 winning mare by Tabasco Cat, zoomed into contention for Kentucky Derby (Gr.1). After breaking his maiden at Meadowslands Oct.30, Ice Box won twice in three starts at Gulfstream this year. He captured a first- level allowance race at nine furlongs (1800m) by a half-length over Pleasant Prince Jan.18 prior to his mid-pack effort in the Fountain. Overall, he won three of seven starts, and earned $ 506,534.

The final time was 0:56.58. Ivory Empress won two of 10 starts, and earned $ 93,242. She is trained by Ian Wilkes for owner/breeder Janis Whitham.
